  • 16-Week Courses: Traditional semester-long classes. Students attend about 3 hours per week for 16 weeks.
  • 8-Week Courses: Accelerated classes with the same credit. Students meet more often and finish in half the time.
  • Minimesters: Short, intensive classes between semesters. Typically 2–3 weeks long, with daily sessions of about 3.5 hours, five days a week.
  • Summer Sessions:  Two choices—6 weeks (about 8 hours/week) or 11 weeks (about 4.5 hours/week).

Instructional Delivery Types

  • In-person: Classes held on campus with face-to-face interaction.
  • Online: Course takes place in an online environment where the student and instructor are in separate locations. Some Zoom sessions might be required. Learn more about MCC Online Options.
  • Blended/Hybrid: A blend of online and face-to-face instruction. Students will spend half of the class time completing work online, and the other half will be spent face-to-face in a classroom.
  • Hyflex: Choose how you attend—on campus, via Zoom, or online—each day.
  • Honors: Advanced courses designed to challenge your thinking and creativity.
  • Dual Credit: High school students take college-level courses that count for both high school and college credit.
  • Computer-Assisted Instruction (CAI): Self-paced math classes using a computer. Students must meet TSI requirements and follow course deadlines.
  • English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL): Developmental courses for students who need support in English reading and writing. Helps meet TSI requirements.
  • Linked Courses: Two related classes (like math and economics) taken together with the same group of students.
