Scholars enjoy many advantages through the Rapoport First Generation Scholars program. Along with a scholarship that supports tuition, fees, and books, the award can be combined with other financial aid—including the Pell Grant and additional scholarships or grants—to make college even more affordable. Beyond financial support, scholars also take part in enrichment opportunities that help them make the most of their time at MCC and prepare for what’s next. These experiences are designed to build confidence, strengthen skills, and set students up for success in their education and career.

Each scholar who successfully completes the program and is accepted to an eligible four-year institution is invited to apply for a transfer scholarship of $11,600 and a laptop. This scholarship is only available to students in the program.

First Generation Scholars are afforded leadership opportunities as well. Scholars who are active participants in the program are eligible to apply to be a Summer Bridge Leader for the Summer Bridge program.
